“You are always in control of yourself. YES, YOU ARE.”
No excuses.
No days off.
No BS.
When you are chasing goals, put up the work and enjoy the results.
Doubt me.
Hate me.
Just the inspiration I need.
Believe in yourself every single day and changes will start showing up.
I’ve been working out and running for about seven years, focusing entirely on weight lifting and resistance training considering that I was a very skinny and sickly kid growing up. (I used to be asthmatic but in God’s grace I was able to eliminate it). From merely 50 kilos, getting to 71 kilos was indeed a milestone for me. When Foundever Manila gave me the opportunity to be a CSR after my teaching stint, I was approximately 60-62 kilos at the time. It became hard for me to be consistent with my regimen and I was trying to cope with a bad diet and stress eating which made me “skinny fat.” The good thing about Foundever is that I got involved in sports, namely basketball which as a child I dreamt of going pro. I was actually getting hooked into until I realized I have not really reached my true potential.
The launch of the #FoundeverFit program last year has given me the freedom to share my journey and connect with others around the world through the Workplace app who are also serious about fitness. For me, fitness is not just about hitting the gym; it is also about inner happiness and overall well-being. It became more of a mental therapy considering the demands of the BPO industry. Through #FoundeverFit, I am more “me” and happy to gain new friends from other sites across the world, especially Nancy Gonzales from Nicaragua who is also featured on here. Her transformation indeed is extraordinary and I am a witness of that when she had her learning visit at our site last year. She became one of my inspirations to be more consistent and dedicated to my regimen. In fitness, there are no short cuts. It involves immense discipline and hard work.
I’m not in the best shape, but I want to prove to myself that I can do something that seems insurmountable and inspire others by showing them that no matter where they are in their fitness goals, they can do it, too. By the way, I am around 72-73 kilos today. My goal is to reach 80-82 kilos for I am on track to compete as a fitness model for a well-known local brand of canned tuna that advocates a healthy lifestyle here in the Philippines. Who knows? I will be more than humbled to represent #FoundeverFit once I get in. The mind is the most important part of achieving any fitness goal. Mental change always comes before physical change. And that is always the basic foundation of fitness. So how can you #BeYourBest?
P.S.
