“You can see her struggle, but you never see her quit.” One compliment I will never forget.

A year ago, September 15, 2018, when the tragedy happened; the typhoon Ompong hit our area at Itogon Benguet. Three of our family members died, our house was destroyed and not a single penny or clothes were saved. All was gone. That was the reason why I stopped my academics. It was a hard move for me, and a month later, I decided to look for work. A feeling of no confidence and even doubt because I was an undergrad, with no experience at all. I didn’t even have a single document for me to apply – everything was carried away by the typhoon.

I didn’t know where to start, but I did not stop looking for a job. And that was the time I became independent and a second parent to my siblings. I was 18 years old.

One day when I was looking for a job in Baguio, I was invited by someone to apply at Foundever. I feel so scared at the time because I didn’t know if I could do it, but then I was encouraged to apply. That first time I applied, I struggled with my communication because I was so shy. I failed the first assessment. I felt down, but the encouragement did not end there and they asked me to re-apply after a month. While waiting for a month, I worked a part-time job. Until, in God’s grace, I passed the first assessment and got a final interview. When they asked for the requirements, I was unable to provide the documents they needed. I felt bad when my start date was rescheduled, but I never gave up. On December 17, 2018, I started my training and I was so excited. That same day was also my special day, my birthday. It was a beautiful blessing. It was a big opportunity for me because everything is new and I realized that I am officially working at a BPO. The experience with the environment and co-workers was wonderful. The workplace is beautiful and I get to interact with accommodating and approachable people. You will never regret being a part of Foundever.

Months pass and days change, but what I have experienced at Foundever from day one never changed. A bond was built, and it feels like a second home! I stayed with Foundever for months; it helped me a lot using the benefits that Foundever offers. I was able to provide for my family, which is a big help. I was so thankful that Foundever helped me boost my confidence and communication skills.

Two things I learned from Foundever: one is to keep chasing your goals and be open to new things because learning is a never-ending process. Second, success comes with passion. You will reach a dream little by little with passion and that will make success.

I believe that there is more to come and this is my Foundever story.
