My life is a testament to the fact that every decision we make has the power to shape who we are and who we become. My early years were plagued by bad choices that almost led me down a path of no return. Skipping school, dropping out, and falling in with the wrong crowd made me realize the hard way just how difficult life can be.

But one phone call from my uncle changed everything. He asked if I wanted a “real job” and even prepped me for the interview. I passed and landed my first job as a Technical Support Representative, though not for long. My incompetence on the phone resulted in my failure to obtain certification. I could have given up, but instead, I applied for a Customer Service Representative role and landed it. My commitment and hard work paid off when I was promoted to the Escalations team and then accepted a Trainee Coach position after eight months. I’ve been with the company for four years now and am a Team Manager myself, a job that provides for my family better than I could have imagined.

Looking back, I know that taking the chance to apply for that Customer Service job was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I learned from my mistakes and developed better habits that have made me the person I am today. Life truly is all about choices, and I am grateful for the choices I made that led me here.
