Ann Liu
I joined Foundever in November 2016, initially viewing it as a stepping stone—a chance to complete the paid training before moving on. However, life had other plans when my husband lost his job, and I found myself in a position where leaving wasn’t an option. I made a pact with myself: I would stay for at least a year and then seek other opportunities.
As I transitioned from training to taking calls, my first full week coincided with Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It was an intense experience, filled with back-to-back calls that nearly pushed me to quit. Yet, I persevered, and by the end of that month, I was proud to be among the top five agents in my campaign. This accomplishment led to my selection to remain with the client while others were reassigned, and for the next four months, I proudly held the title of Top Agent.
My journey took a new turn when my Operations Manager approached me about an opening in the Training department. Although I was hesitant—training was never something I envisioned myself doing—I pushed through my doubts and interviewed for the position. To my surprise, I landed the job. Over the next year, I honed my training skills, became certified, and began leading training sessions for multiple campaigns. Eventually, I took on the role of lead trainer for a new campaign. At the same time I was responsible for hiring, training, and growing all the mentors at our site.
In 2019, our site faced closure, and a limited number of us were given the opportunity to continue with the company remotely. After careful consideration, I accepted the offer to work from home. Initially, the transition was challenging, but everything changed when I was assigned to launch a new Line of Business (LOB). This exciting project equipped me with valuable virtual training techniques that I carried forward in my career. I explored various campaigns until my mentor encouraged me to apply for the newly created role of Leadership Development Specialist. I seized the opportunity, and after a successful interview, I became the second member of this new specialist team.
My first assignment was to establish a Learning Specialist Growth Point—something that had not existed before. I embraced this challenge and, within three months, had developed a strategic training program. With collaboration from new team members, we successfully rolled it out.
During this time, Sitel underwent an acquisition that brought us together as Foundever. I transitioned from my work on the Learning Specialist Growth Point to collaborating closely with coaches, leading the rebranding efforts. Our team revamped the coaching materials to introduce the new Coach Talent+ framework, followed by a complete rebranding of all Talent+ programs. Throughout this process, I ensured that our training initiatives kept everyone aligned with the new vision.
Recently, I made a significant career shift after seven and a half years in training to pursue my newfound passion for copywriting. Although I’m still acclimating to my official role as a copywriter, my extensive background in training and content creation has laid a solid foundation for this new challenge. I look forward to the growth and opportunities ahead. What began as a temporary position has evolved into a fulfilling and diverse career journey at Foundever.
