Regardless if we are engineers, doctors, psyche majors or others with a different sexual orientation or religion, we should always be proud of who we are, despite our background. That doesn’t define who we are. Your actions and decisions do. I’m proud of just being able to be “me”.

I’m always trying to keep myself well-rounded and open to challenges in order to maintain versatility so that I can adjust and embrace change.

Today, I am glad to work in a company where diversity and tolerance do exist. In my past job, sexual orientation was a synonym for disability. I was always questioned about business decisions because of it. I let my work speak for me, excluding what other people would say and proving my capability with results (revenue, customer service directives and proposals for improvement on a product via marketing). I think that my sexual preference has no correlation as to how I display my talents.

I am grateful to work in a company that puts its people first and that is reflected in the empowerment one is given on a daily basis. There’s a palpable environment of tolerance and acceptance that focuses on your capacity, potential and willingness to learn from both your mistakes and success while keeping yourself humble. One never stops learning from the many challenges you’re faced with.

At Foundever, we don’t just promote diversity, we embrace it! In honor of International Pride Month, we’re celebrating our uniqueness by sharing stories of pride, inclusiveness and daring to be different.
