Deborah Foster

My name is Deborah and I just celebrated my fifth anniversary with Foundever. I was born in Fort Erie and I moved to St. Catharines about eight years ago. Five years ago, I was unemployed and wondering how I was going to pay my rent. At 2:30 AM, I applied to work from home at Foundever. At 8:30 AM that same day, I received a phone call from Foundever asking me if I would consider working on-site in St. Catharines. I said, “Yes,” and I was asked to come in for an interview.

I started in Video Tech, and I am currently working as a Certified Product Expert (Consumer Care). I have enjoyed all the campaigns that I have worked on, and I especially love the people that I work with.

I have been involved in our Social Committee, Diversity Committee and our Global Initiative. I have four grandchildren and when I got hired at Foundever, I told them that I was going to be fixing customers’ cable TV. My oldest grandson said, “How can you fix other people’s televisions when you are not able to fix your own?” At this point, I was not able to change the input on their television after my grandkids finished playing their video games. I told my grandson that Foundever was going to train me. Every night after I got off work, he would call and asked if I was learning. I said, “Trust me, that I am, and I will fix your TV the next time I come over to your house.”

I feel that Foundever must have seen something in me that I did not see in myself. There have been challenges for Foundever and myself over the years. However, together, we have been able to maintain a great working relationship, learn many new things and have a lot of fun!
