Deborah Harrop

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013; I was 36, with two children, aged 1 and 3. Foundever couldn’t have been more supportive. My Site Director and HR Manager kept in regular contact with me throughout. My confidence took a huge dip, I was worried about my appearance and how people would react to me, especially when my hair started to regrow and I stopped wearing my wig. My Site Director visited me at home and offsite and worked with me to help me return to work in a role that suited me. I wasn’t as confident when I initially returned but, in time, grew in confidence and into my role. My experience with breast cancer has helped me have a greater appreciation for life and what’s important. My compassion and understanding have increased and I feel I am a stronger leader, more appreciative and compassionate, as a result of my experiences.
