For any athlete, there comes a time when you realize the sport you know and love will eventually come to an end. I played lacrosse my whole life at the highest competing levels. During my last year of college, I realized that lacrosse was eventually going to stop and I needed to find a career. At the University of Oregon, the Journalism and Communications school is known for being one of the best in the country and that is what I chose to study. While in the advertising program I realized that choosing Social Media as your specialty wasn’t an option but I saw all around me that Social Media as a career was growing. I ended up presenting the option to the head professors of the advertising program. Out of thousands of kids, I was the only one in my graduating class who specialized in social media. This year, there are many kids who have chosen that path and it continues to grow. I was proud to start a program at my university and bring that to my school. I also realized I had found my passion, social media. Thankfully, I was able to figure that out, as my career fulfills me just as sports once did.

I ended up graduating early and packing up my entire life in one week to move from Oregon to Miami, Fl. I have yet to be able to find one similarity between the two places. The job I moved here for wasn’t for me and I spent a few months unemployed, in a new city, with no family or friends. I promised myself the next job I would get would be one that brings me joy and allowed me to pursue my passion while growing my knowledge. I was delighted to have found Foundever. I joined TSC Americas and was able to grow the brand’s social media presence as well as dive deep into Workplace and grow my skills in external and internal communications. Now, I work on the Foundever marketing team doing social media for the Foundever brand as a whole and on the MAX core team. Launching a never-been-done-before global initiative has been challenging but incredibly rewarding and I look forward to seeing where the program will go from here.

A few years ago when I was graduating college, if you had told me that I would be able to work on national and international initiatives in social media and internal communications for a global company with 75,000 associates while living in humid Miami… I would have thought you were crazy. Foundever has given me knowledge and opportunities I never thought possible and I am proud to work for this company. I feel respected, understood, and heard. I look forward to continuing to grow in the company and never hiding my voice.
