Maria E. Garcia Sandoval

My name is Maria Garcia. I’m 36 years old and I have been working at Foundever for almost four years. I’m a mother to two beautiful girls; a 10 year old and a two year old. I’ve been working in the call center industry for almost 18 years and still, every morning when I leave my daughters with the person who takes care of them, my heart breaks a little. Being a working mom is not easy, people may judge you, they may think that you’re not fully committed because, “you’re a mom and you will put your kids first no matter what happens at work”. And it’s true, I will always put my family first, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t give my 100% at work. As a mom, I’m used to multi-tasking!

You may ask, why do you keep working? First of all, because my husband and I decided that we both need to put food on the table; second, because I want my family to be proud of what I’ve accomplished. I started as an agent, became a QA, Supervisor, Trainer and now Sr. Specialist Recruiter – and believe me, I’m not done yet. Whenever I feel like giving up, I remember I am doing this for Camila, Isabella and Dario.

So, today on International Women’s Day, I want to honor all the women in the company, my co-workers throughout all locations and countries, who wake up every day and prepare their kids for school or daycare, and then come to work and do great things for our company. You are the heart of the company!

In honor of International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the bold and powerful women of Foundever by sharing their stories – about balance, about success, about gender equality, about change, about what it feels like to be a woman today.
