I was born in Brazil in a small town. Where many people with closed minds harass, persecute and act in a violent way with the gays. I was in high school, tired of being beaten up and tired of being an aberration to students and some family members.

That’s when I met her, the queen of my life: Thaynara Farias. She lied to all the students at the school and the church, that we were a couple and that she and I were dating. That’s when I discovered what peace was! We met 15 years ago and in 2012 she moved to Lisbon. My love for her has always been stronger than anything! She is my queen, my best friend and my savior.

She taught me to be what I am today!
She taught me to never give up on my purpose.

Living without her was completely sad. So I came after her, moving to the same country, the same city and we ended up working in the same company. She taught me to love, she inspired me to be what I am today! And with her, I came to know love.

I have a boyfriend, I am gay and I owe all my joy and freedom, thanks to the teaching and help of my queen.

If I had not met, I would probably be sad and inside the closet. But she taught me to love dreaming and never giving up.

I was born this way! And no one is going to change who I am, today I celebrate my freedom alongside the people I love. I owe it all to her.

At Foundever, we don’t just promote diversity, we embrace it! In honor of International Pride Month, we’re celebrating our uniqueness by sharing stories of pride, inclusiveness and daring to be different.
