So where shall I start haha, I started my voyage upon the ship in Plymouth on the 18th of April 2017 as a customer service advisor. That first wave excitement/nerves taking my first calls, it was definitely daunting; however eye-opening and the start of an amazing journey of self-development and new experiences.
A couple of months in I noticed an opportunity arise in Recruitment and decided I wanted to give it a go. So I filled out all the relevant paperwork, got my CV up to scratch and sent it through. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the opportunity to interview for the role as others that had applied had more relevant experience. This was a growth point for me in handling rejection. I carried on with my advisor position and embraced every second of it nominating myself as a buddy for new candidates that come through recruitment.
This got me known and eventually got me my spot in recruitment as support just as and when they needed some help with numbers and groups. This support role then extended and became a secondment as I was needed more regularly when we hit peak. From the secondment came a track position doing half recruitment and half on back-office emails, and then from this I was given the opportunity to move to a seconded perm position as an internal resourcer; which is where I am now. This has been the most amazing opportunity for me, I am loving every second as I’ve been here from the beginning seeing the positive changes for the building itself and the people within it has been very positive for myself and everyone else around me.
