I am big on work/life balance. Most of my coworkers ask if I even get enough sleep; at night, I’m a Learning Manager for Groupon. After my shift, I have breakfast at my favorite restaurant and check-in to a cool staycation spot in my city. On the weekends, I travel.
You see, on my “downtime”, I am a social media influencer – a blogger of sorts. Food crawls, writing reviews, taking photos, and having fun. And my job at Foundever allows me to do so!
I am a 43 year old millennial! Funny for some – especially my kids – but most people at work fall under that generation, so I’ve taken it upon myself to do everything I can to engage with this tribe. This means finding value in experiences, having an online presence and staying on top of technology, photography and trends. In the process, I have found a hobby that I like, and that I’m really good at!
This hobby has helped me in my role at Foundever. I’ve learned to communicate better with trainees and agents, and have become skilled at instructional design and authoring apps. It’s also allowed me to implement technology in our Learning Teams; using various digital tools and educational resources like infographics and videos. I’ve even encouraged our agents to blog to improve their English writing skills.
More than anything, I want my trainees to know that there is life outside work, and that when you’re happy with yourself and your life, everything else will follow…
In honor of International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the bold and powerful women of Foundever by sharing their stories – about balance, about success, about gender equality, about change, about what it feels like to be a woman today.
